Agree, sort of. Water is the first choice. However, 1 mini diet coke? I guess it's my one an only vice. On a strict Mediterrean diet, 117 lbs,5 4", bmi 20, vitals excellent...no alcohol, no smoke, exercise, heart tests all good after pci. I live like a nun. Genes got to me. It's hard to believe one mini diet coke is going to trigger a stroke/cardiac arrest. It was a community-related pneumonia that got my unknown weak heart... I just read a woman living past 100 drinks one diet coke per day.

Used to drink soft drinks since my teens now after my ablation I only drink an occasional soda cuz I had a hard time burping on my own but that has corrected itself. Diet soda tastes ICK to me so yeah.

Water is my first beverage but I own stock in Coke Zero, Diet Dr. Pepper and maybe in Pepsi though I do not not drink Pepsi a lot.

I am eliminating any carbonated drink! I eliminated artificial sweeteners from my diet a few years ago. I know that carbonation causes retention of fluid in interstitial tissue. Water is the safest drink!

My father in law had water delivery and a dispenser that kept it cold. At the time I thought it extravagant. After a bit I found myself liking this water and choosing it over alternatives. At some point I looked into water delivery and asked for the analysis of their product. No national company had this and the only local provider did but their water was filtered tap. I chose to get a good filter system for drinking and cooking. Our water tasted great. The investment was around $500. Less than delivery.

My son in law sill drinks sugar free soft drinks. And thinks my system is a bit extravagant.

Everyone deserves a treat. Mine is good water.
