I had my tavr in 2019 at 75 years old.
Only required an overnight stay in the hospital.
The only Restrictions after the tavr
No driving for one week
No lifting of anything over 10lbs for 2 weeks.
Except for very vigorous work it seems you shouldn't be out of work for very long.
Hi… Had my TAVR done on January 23 of 2024 at the age of 70. I was told by the doctor not to drive or lift anything over 10 pounds for the first two weeks. I was ready and willing to go, however, I did want to listen to what the doctors said. As far as getting back to work, it depends on what you actually do. As a teacher, I was able to go back within a month, but I chose to wait till six weeks. You won’t believe the difference in how you feel from when you go into the hospital as compared to when you walk out of the hospital. Good luck !
I had a aortic valve replacement 7 years ago. I do manual work and was told 3 months before I could go back to work which I think was about right. I guess it depends on the type of work you do
