No, as Karen pointed it is a valve replacement procedure done using a catheter to replace a valve that is calcified or damaged in some other way.

TAVR is a procedure. The aortic valve is made from either cow or pig tissue valves on a tiny metal frame. The valve could also be mechanical, which lasts longer but you need to be on Coumadin/Warfarin for as long as you have it.
