This could be both good and bad news. Since it will be covered under part D my guess is there will be many insurance carriers who will put this drug as a tier 4 drug and will cover only a small portion of the cost. We will just have to wait and see what happens. Thanks for the post cliff!

We have the most costly and difficult to navigate medical system in the industrialized world. All it will take to fix is everyone voting their own self interest.

So when?

I have part D and still have to use Singlecare or GoodRx to buy my more expensive meds. part D just does not cover many drugs very well....

You must decide your interests and do a little research. If better more affordable health care for patients is a goal there is usually a clear choice for every office. Participating in primaries and voting for every office is important. Big pharma, insurance companies and providers make large contributions, have powerful lobbies and make major ad buys on media then offer spokesmen. Great career opportunities for “friends retiring” from politics, government or influencers. The decks are stacked.

I don’t closely follow the details so please Google and fact check me. On a national level … Trump wanted to terminate Affordable care(Obama care) but John McCain cast the vote that saved it. MAGA Republicans still want to terminate it and cut or kill Social security and Medicare. Many red states declined fed funds for Medicaid that would help lower income citizens at little or no cost to the state. Biden is working on negotiating better medication pricing, capping what, consumers pay and overall covering all Americans at more affordable price. Bernie Sanders is for making Universal Healthcare a human right.

“The Medicare for All of 2022 has also been endorsed by more than 60 major organizations, including National Nurses United, American Medical Student Association, Nation Union of Health Care Workers, Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA-CWA), Indivisible, Public Citizen, ...”

I won't discuss politics here but for perspective … I registered to vote in 1972 and went to work for Richard Nixons Committee to Re-Elect. I met my wife while doing advance work. The last time I voted Republican for President was 1988. My wife and I became Democrats in 2015. I’m not personally stressed over healthcare but very disappointed at our country falling so far behind the modern world and failing so many citizens. God be with us.
