Gail,
Regretfully, every time I walk over 20 ft, I feel this way. Like I could collapse.
I sit down and breath slowly; 5 in through the nose & 4 out through the mouth and think happy thoughts.
I hope that a pending "Wolf minimaze" corrects this.

I do what Caryn does- take as deep a breath in as I can then blow out slowly through pursed lips. Hopefully somewhere to sit down as I get quite dizzy. I also tell myself I'm okay and take note consciously of my environment ( like how blue the sky is or a picture on the wall) as this seems to ground me and stop the anxiety- basically it's a distraction technique but helps with panic attacks and anxiety.

@A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member One thing I do is blow the air out of my lungs through pursed lips this takes my mind off the shortness of breath and breaks the anxiety cycle. Do the same on the inhale. Try it and see if it will work for you. I have read that nose breathing will do the same thing but when I am short of breath that is hard for me. Hugs🤗

That is so true. My husband and I were both having major falling-apart issues last year. Since we struggled to take care of one another, we included friends, neighbors, and family to help us. So many kind people got involved. We got through it. God used them to take care of us. I hope you have a great Sunday - feel well today!

I have found that going into the bathroom and playing sudoku on my tablet often helps distract me from the anxiety and calm a palpating heart.
