I have moderate valve issues including the tricuspid valve so I have been exploring information on treatments. My understanding is that the tricuspid valve is very complex and because of the risk factors involved surgery is often not recommended. With that said I also remember reading that Columbia Presbyterian in NYC has been successful in preforming newly innovative surgical treatments on the tricuspid valve. Don’t remember the details to report but keeping your question in mind thought the information they provide might interest you.

Stephanie, the only real treatment for Tricuspid registration is repair or replacement. However, that depends on your age and your anatomy. For example, I have one lobe attached to the wall of the heart and that means the only option was replacement. However, that never happened because the heart was already starting to enlarge and thicken in my 30s, and replacing it at that point would not have given me much benefit and might have caused worse problems. So, the valve surgeon opted not to do that. So, at 70, I have enlargement, thickening, and CHF. That is a direct result of that unrepaired tricuspid valve. Sometimes fixing something just won't make a difference in the quality of your life or the length of your life. You can always seek another opinion from a valve specialist. That said, sometimes all we can do is live our best life as it is. Hugs 🤗

It can be used for severe regurgitation!
"The EVOQUE system is able to replace the native tricuspid valve, virtually eliminating tricuspid regurgitation in a wide range of patients," said Susheel Kodali, MD, of Columbia University Irving Medical Center/New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
