Anthony944, consider that a great blood pressure would require the medical "professional" to delve into the reason you are there AND why you came in? BP high, drugs, diet, stop eating and drinking what you want and see me over and over and over again? Go an hour early to work through the kiosk check in that doesn't work? Put a diaper over your mouth and nose? Half the office staff is coughing and most the patients into their hands but sitting 6 feet apart? Wait a half hour, get to a room for another half hour, Doctor sees you from 2 minutes, $200 K-CHING?

Yes, I have a BP cuff at home always check it..... yes to the bathroom question... Doctors never tell you this, plus, have you noticed they take your BP immediately after you arrive? That is not good either...

My blood pressure this morning was 94/ 74 and I actually learned something new today. I did not realize that you were suppose to go to the bathroom before you take your blood pressure. At the doctor's office they dont tell you to go to the bathroom first or at least they have not asked me to. And that is probably the reason why it is inaccurate at the Doctor's office instead of being at home. Good Video Mom.

I am so sorry that so many of you are having such bad experiences with how they take your BP. I have a people issue and I am never rushed with my pressure in a doctor's office. They like having us arrive 30 minutes ahead of our appointment here and never rush us in and take our BP the moment we inner the room. I'm taken to an exam room and told to have a seat and relax, that a nurse will be in in a few minutes to get my vitals. I'm never rushed and they always tell us to relax. They always ask if you need to use the bathroom and there is one inside every exam room. And if they need a urine sample they will give us the cup when we enter and are told to leave it on the table in the bathroom. I've never been rushed through a doctor's appointment. My pressure is taken several times and am asked question about my day if it is up for any reason. I have run low since my heart attack and if it slightly up I'm questioned as to how my day is going and if I'm feeling alright. If mine is near that 120/80 they will have me lay down and keep checking it. I have a number of health problems and abnormalities so when my old doctor retired and I was having a placement problem my cardiologists sent me to the Hospital's ACC Clinic. I get excellent care there and everyone is great. I wish all of you could get the same service I receive.
Take care,
Robin
