@A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member you are exactly right. They need to make sure you don't go into a fatal arrhythmia known as Torsades de pointes. You need to be near help if that happens so they can get you out of it before it is fatal. They are very careful and this hardly ever happens but it can. I went through the same thing as you during the Tykson loading. I have been taking it now for 2 years with success.
Now I know why I ha to be in the hospital for 60 hours plus when the new medication dofetilide was added to my list of medications. Some of the medicines I was taking caused the QT to get long and they wanted to ensure after each 12 hour dose that a EKG was done and measured the QT to ensure they didn't send me home with issues.
