Advice On Finding A Different Doctor, Changing Your Doctor?
A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

A cardiologist told me I had an enlarged heart, an MRI scan said I didn't. A GI DR. billed me for a endoscopy I never had. I am not happy with my providers but they cover for each other, what can I do?

Get rid of your cardiologist and look for another one. As for the endoscopy you can dispute it, it is a procedure that is done in a hospital. Call your insurance and report it immediately.
Take care,

Before I had my open heart surgery, I had an echocardiogram that showed many problems. I never got a call from my cardiologist and could never get him to get back to me when I called the office. So after 3 weeks of this, I went online and looked up different cardiologists and what their reviews were. I found one in a different system and what a difference that was. I had my surgery and am still with him. Very glad I switched.

If you have a primary doctor that you trust you might ask them what cardiologist they would recommend. Ask friends and neighbors in your area for recommendations. Ask people here on this site who live in your area if they have a good doctor to recommend. Do research at the local heart hospital sites and find doctors that are top rated and make a consultation appointment with at least one you think might work for you to address your heart concerns. Explain what has happened and ask them what approach they would take to assess your condition or lack thereof. Those are the things I did when I relocated to a new area. I am still trying to find the right fit for me with my primary care doctor. But my cardiologists are the best!

@A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member,
I'm sorry to hear about that, I have a few friends that have had to go out of their area or state in order to find good doctors. Take care my friend and be watchful of what ever doctor you choose.
