Thank You for your answers to my question! I am taking Eliquis and doing as much of the leg and ankle exercises as possible given that I broke my ankle a couple of weeks ago! All I hear is Doom and Gloom about the DVT and the “Inevitable” pulmonary Clot!!! I feel much better just knowing that I Am following the prescribed course of Action!

Actually Janine, my wife's daughter has one currently, she's as normal as she usually is (not saying), works, and runs the streets 45 years old, obese and inactive. Never follows doctors advice, so..... I do know of a couple of folks that have had them over the last 10 years or so, one was hospitalized for treatment and another treated with eliquis. Both back to normal activity after treatment. We ride motorcycles together when we get the chance.

I personally have had blood clots multiple times. It's the timing on getting the clot resolved before it reaches its destination. Mine in the lungs mostly. I later diagnosed with APS. I have autoimmune conditions like Lupus and Raynaud's and Sjordens disease. Common with blood clots. PE's are quite painful. Hospital monitoring usually a week. Blood thinners likely for life and food adjustments maybe in order as well. No fun for sure. Best of luck.

Janine, can you march in place in our chair even if it is only lifting your feet slightly off the ground that will replace walking for your circulation? If you can swing your arms at the same time that will help increase your heart rate. It is something we do in our class for those who can't stand and march. Keep going, you will get there. Hugs
