In my case, I was recently diagnosed with lymphedema. The lymph nodes in my feet, ankles and legs are not working to push the fluids up so I swell every day. Have been using compression hose for two weeks now and I hate them, but they do the job. I also have CHF so that contributes to it I imagine. A low salt diet is necessary too. Itβs hard to fight but it can be done. Iβm completing 8 visits with the edema clinic and water therapy.
Are you reading the labels, no more than 150 mg of sodium. No prepackaged food, sodas, watch the fluid, even watch the type of fruits you eat. I weigh everyday because my fluid is mostly in my stomach area if I feel is if I'm drowning or breathing hard I take next half of my Bumex. Keep your bowels in check to. I've been managing heart disease for over 18 years and still haven't gotten use to it. I was 40 years old, went to work not feeling well, ended up being taken to the hospital to be told I had a EF only 50 % of my heart working. Down through the years my EF went to 15%, with prayer, and determination it's now 20%.
I am not on lasix. I was on Bumeatine (Bumex). I was getting dehydrated so my doctor told me to take one as needed if my weight goes over 205 lbs.I was on Bumex for five years one milligram. I which you the best of like with the lasix. I wear compression stockings every since 2018.
Hello Debra I would call your doctor if your legs are swollen. My legs never were swollen but they just ached all the time my cardiologist did a ultrasound on them and found I had blockage in both legs he went in and cleared the blockage thankfully I didn't need any stents put in. I have added you to my team
