I don’t work, My rescue pooch is a mixed breed (mutt sounds so degrading) who knows, and seems to be ok with not having a schedule.
I’m sure the medical community would not be happy but I get up whenever I want. Fina (my dog) and I go out for a walk as soon as I get dressed We get home, I feed her and wash the dishes from last night while she eats. Then I do whatever I feel like doing, some days nothing. Otherwise , it may be gardening, chatting with neighbors, grocery and pharmacy shopping . watching TV Andy occasionally laundry or other domestic chores. . How did I ever work? Now, I couldn’t get up at 6:00 am. every morning, go to work for 10 hours, and get things done around the house. I now have too much do. I will say, though, if you can swing it, get a cleaning lady.. It’s great having the entire house clean at one time if there’s a dust bunny or two , who cares?
I know that the ladies will find this amusing , but if I cook dinner, it’s a big deal. 30 minute meals take me an hour. to an hour and a half. I’m not Bobby Flay, but I am a decent cook.
Either before or after supper, Fina and I go out again. The whole reason I got Fina was to force me to walk at least twice a day. Then home once again to do whatever I want to do and go to bed whenever I want to. I’m fortunate My symptoms don’t reflect my cardiac and pulmonary conditions.
But we never know, do we? My widow maker made me realize, life is short, so we should do whatever we want to do. Eat ice cream at midnight. Buy a stranger a cup of coffee in the morning. They talk about it all day. Lighten up and relax. I know, easier said than done But give it a try. God gave each of us a finite number of days. Enjoy those days. And if anyone comments on the dust bunnies, show them where the vacuum cleaner is and tell them to have at it.

Thank all for your reports, I do not allow my heart to define me. But then I gave my heart to the Lord. I do what I can. I love to hike which is very seldom, also gardening at my pace. The hiking I was a speed walker but have slowed down alot lately. I am 71 years old and still want to go places. I still watch my granddaughter and take her places when she's not in school.

I start out taking blood pressure and recording it for doc. Have my juice and morning meds and something for breakfast. Make bed, shower, do whatever is up next, laundry, planning dinner, checking emails and messages. Hubs still likes to go out for lunch so we may do that. Many days have doc appointments and now doing water therapy once or twice a week, edema clinic once a week for four more weeks, Dinner usually 6:00pm, clean up kitchen. hit the recliner and watch tv and play games on tablet at the same time (!), balance cat and tablet on lap and bed between 9 and 10. Start it all over next day. Work in phone calls with friends, lunches and breakfasts monthly. It’s all a challenge with heart issues and others but do what I can, when I can, and still trying to enjoy my life.

Charlie (Springer Spaniel) get me up with the dawn! So wake-up varies with the season. He demands breakfast FIRST so we do that. Then breakfast for me + morning meds + loiter watching morning news. Once a week spring/summer/fall I try to play golf. Arthritis and bad back problems make it a challenge but I enjoy being with "the guys" and the game I've played for 60+ years. Once a week (or more-depending) I deliver Meals on Wheels with a friend. Many are a LOT worse off than me so I try to give back. I'm a model railroader so I spend time on that hobby as well. I enjoy Facebook so I go there a lot too. Early evening is a Charlie's short walk/food and his "duties"! Evening is TV/reading/computer/music. I've had a 3 x bypass, 3 stents and two heart attacks in addidion to CHF. Some days are better than others. Meds before bed then we hit the sack. I push through pain during the day if I can but it;s hard and there are the low psychological/poor me times too. I find these extremely hard. I live alone. At 75 that won't change. So, like us all there are good days and bad ones.

I like to shower & dress after I wake up, which sometimes takes awhile. Permanent afib, so it can tire you out fast. Usually I have a few chores I try and do, sometimes it doesn’t get all done. I think the biggest thing is to remember do what you can, if you tire out, rest. I do like stores that offer pickup, just makes it easier. Learned that the hard way, last November I went and picked up a few groceries. When I started unloading my defibrillator went off 5 times in 7 minutes—ouch. Started a new med and it helps keep my pulse down, but still in afib.
Remember to stay hydrated, especially in the heat and pace yourself. It can be hard on trips, you can plan things and realize you need to rest and not push it. We’ve sometimes rented a wheelchair, my husband doesn’t mind pushing it & considers it his exercise. It’s coming up to 11 years since mitral valve replacement & having inner muscle thinned a little. Got an enlarged heart, and the mechanical valve leaks a little. I’ve had 13 cardi versions, and tried numerous meds to control the afib. I just tell people I have a shocking personality & if machines ever take over, they will think I’m one of them😂
God, humor, and just live is the best advice I could give.
