Mine was put in because my left side of my heart was weak and I had a low ejection fraction rate.

Thanks Steve. My Cardiologist is thinking about taking me off the 12.5mg dose of Metoprolol Succinate ER to boost my heart rate. I personally don't need the medication as I have only had one incidence where my heart raced up was when I contracted Covid last year. My watch woke me up indicating heart rate during sleep averaged 100-104 when it typically is in the mid 40's. Originally placed on 25mg dose November 2019 while exercising when heart went into AFIB. After 2 months at that dosage had to get a lower dose cause my heart rate was in low 40's all the time, dizzy, just couldn't function.

Mine was bradycardia and afib guess from what they were saying was the irregular rythum and heart rate were going hand in hand. Be at a 40 and regular then a 200 and afib. Haven't had any issues with it since I got it May 2018.
