Do Anybody With Chf Have Trouble Sleeping At Night

Question

I doing great with my chf my labs are great no fluids on my body weight myself every morning don’t take naps doing the day not tired at all when I get up I usually falls asleep after one in the morning I tried everything to no tv on while I’m in the bed talk to the doctor about it he said if I’m not tired when I get up than I must be getting enough sleep I don’t get it I wake up faithful every day at six am do anybody else have this problem or this is normal not depressed just can’t sleep any advice I sure can use it thank you

I have trouble getting to sleep as well…but I have started taking Magnesium 400mg at night as well as 3 mg of Melatonin as well as 150 milligrams of Trazadone at bedtime! I turn the TV off an hour before I go to bed…I avoid Social Media before bed and I listen to Distant Beach Sounds on my Calm app on my phone…That gets me off to sleep like a baby!

I usually get to sleep around midnight and up around 5  or six everyday but do run out of energy around noon. I do use a cpap machine which does put me to sleep instantly. I do nap during after lunch most days

Hubby seems to, but he also has COPD/ SLEEP APNEA.

Kimberly, the short answer is yes. I have CHF among other things and I have trouble falling asleep some nights. I have several things that have helped. Lately, I have been journaling and listening to a 10-minute meditation (on Youtube) designed as an evening meditation before bed and it really has helped. I also have a sleep hypnosis mp3 that I listen to with headphones while in bed if I still have trouble sleeping.  I also find I sleep better if I am as active as possible during the day. I guess I need to burn off some energy each day so I can sleep. Raise your head a little more too sometimes that is all it takes because while like you, I don't have fluid build-up, sometimes I get short of breath when I lie down. raising my head seems to help. I just sleep with a fat pillow. Hope some of this helps. Hugs🤗

I can truly relate. I can sleep 3 hours, then awake, then lying awake for about an hour and a half, then doze off for about 2 or 3 hours. I need to sleep more, but don't like sleep meds. Not enough sleep is so bad for the heart. I had a bypass in 2019, from an artery dissection, and I was not sleeping well before that suddenly happened. I believe that helped cause the tear along with stress.😢.  Take Care.
