I was diagnosed with Heart Failure with preserved Ejection Fraction plus Pulmonary Hypertension & Grade 11 Diastolic Dysfunction. My Ejection Fraction is 60% which is in the normal range. Anyone with similar diagnosis? Is this a real bad diagnosis? The water weight is gone so I am back to normal as far as my body feels. I have an appointment with a Cardiologist this Thursday.
This all happened in the last month and a half.
Oh, my NT-Pro BNP was 531/pg/ml. Normal is 125 or below. Thanks.
Jeffrey, Welcome to the site and to my team! I have a similar ejection fraction and Congestive Heart Failure. Mine is called Diastolic Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. It simply means my hearts left ventricle is stiff and unable to fill properly. There are lots of reasons for this and your Cardiologist will be able to explain your exact circumstances. The high BNP says that your heart is struggling to circulate blood. I suggest you make a list of questions for the Cardiologist. When you see them on Thursday be sure to get your questions answered. Since we are not doctors we can only address your question from our personal experience. It is always best to address your very specific circumstances with your Cardiologist. Good luck and let me know how you make out and what they wind up telling you. I am here to help support you in any way that I can. Hugs🤗
