Stents After CABG & Valve Replacement
A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

Who has had stents after CABG? What was your experience? I also had mitral valve replaced, but not sure that's relevant to my returning chest pains. Thanks!

I had Triple CABG in 2001. Everything was well until 2014, when I had my first Stent implanted. 3 years later I had my second stent implanted. 2017 I had 2 implanted, a month apart. In 2020 I had 3 Implanted. The CABG's have always been open. I have had very few problems since, going on 3 years. I had a false alarm last May, but checked out OK after a bunch of tests. We are considering a repair to the mitral valve, sometime in the future, but right now I'm doing great.
If you know what is in the pic, you have stents. The lower RH represents 3; for a total of 7.

I had a stent inserted in 2008 and my triple CABG in 2013, at this this time the stent was OK. In December 2022, I went to A & E at our local infirmary suffering chest pain, I was admitted and a new stent was inserted in place of the original one, the CABG grafts are still OK. I did have some chest pain a week or so after the angioplasty, but a visit to hospital showed no new cardiac issues.
