I have been having sleep problems since my heart attack. I go to sleep, three fours later, Im up. And stay up the rest of the day. Dr prescribed me Amitryptoline, I didn’t like the effects it had on me. Im missing sleep, not depressed.

Yes, I had trouble sleeping after my CAB surgery. I was on the same meds too. Mostly my anxiety was thinking and dwelling about dieing and dieing in my sleep. I was lucky, had a lot of Cops, EMTs, Paramedic and Firefighting friends who worked late nights and I would talk to them and they helped with my anxiety. Also, yes I could die at any time, I could also get run over by a car or bus and a 747 air craft could fall on my head? Once I came to terms ( I was a cop and a firefighter for 32 years then) that I didn't die while working. I started sleeping better and just being thankful I was alive.

Yes, I am on blood thinners and 81 mg aspirin daily. I can’t take magnesium and I already take vitamin d.
My cardiologist does not know about my sleep problems but my PCP is the one prescribing me all the sleep meds and benzodiazepines for anxiety and sleeplessness.
I guess I will have to wait it out because neither of those options are working for me.
