I saw were the sport writer had an aortic aneurysm that rupture, is that a blood clot or swelling of the aortic? I wonder the symptoms, sad, you just never know😔
Hi MsB,
An aneurysm is a thinning of a spot on the wall of the aorta that is ballooning outwardly and that are will continue to thin until it pops and the person bleeds out. It is something that need to be addressed. No matter where it is located it is life threatening, the sports writer was very lucky.

Aneurysm don’t go away it’s like a blown tire in your artery or vein they watch them . Yes people can live with them but watch them . 5 and above are usually operable . . Listen to your body and if you have a good Dr don’t be afraid to ask questions .
I have an abdominal aorta aneurysm detected on a CT scan for something else. Detected a few years ago at 2.6 CM and is now at 3.1CM. My Vascular Surgeon stated if it grows 1 CM in 12 months or exceeds 5.0 CM then surgical intervention will be needed. That artery supplies blood to your lower body. As a previous post stated if it isn't caught in time you will bleed out if it bursts. Symptoms you can get just by googling them as it does mimic a lot of other issues we have in our gut. Risk factors over age 60, Caucasian, male, high cholesterol, smoking etc. What causes AAA is unknown.
Keep a good thought.

Yes, I understand, the reason I said it can go away is I knew someone what had a small aneurysm diagnosis and after having a CT later on for another reason, it was not there for some reason. I don't know if it was an aortic aneurysm or what. I don't have an aneurysm, but had a artery tear in 2019 with surgery. Blessings to you.
Hello Patsym, try not to worry, for stress is not good for us, for what I understand an aneurysm does not all reputure, one person said their aneurysm went away, isn't that a Blessing. Just think positive. Take care.
