Blood Pressure Is High Today.
A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was diagnosed with diastolic congested heart failure. Not having chest pains should I go to Emergency room? My blood pressure has been 134/95 and 130/92 and now 125/90 and I already took blood pressure pill and lasik pill.

I agree with the others that your numbers aren’t that bad. But I also have high BP, in fact just spent four days in hospital fighting it, but I was 250/118. Your diastolic numbers are a little high so do contact your doc tomorrow and give him an fyi message.

Why go to the hospital are you feeling sick. Do you have chest pains. Are you sure the breath and you can't breathe. Those are reasons to go to the hospital. I was just diagnosed with diagnosed diastolic dysfunction and CHF. Yes I am short of breath. I was in the hospital in October for chest pains. I had an angiogram because I flunked the stress test. Like arteries are clean. But I do have the possibility of light blockage. Diastolic dysfunction CHF is a chronic disease if you don't have symptoms that is great. You might be in the beginning stages. Where you don't have a lot of side effects. However this does progress but it might not be very fast. I would watch my diet throw away the salt shaker what I mean is limit yours salt if you have to lose weight that would be a good idea. I do that only it was unintentional. I also follow a diet which I call my way of life because I have diabetes etc. So I have been so careful for 30 years. That is the same as the heart diet cholesterol diet. But the gastrointestinal diet is the worst. That's how I lost all my weight. I was so sick I could barely eat. It was a nightmare. I've been suffering for over a year. The gerd hiatal hernia and gallbladder disease really is the pits I have to be more strict than my other diet. If you can think about. Sincerely Cynthia 426

Aloha Rose! Thanks for expressing your concern about your BP. I would be most concerned about my bottom number because that’s when your heart should be at rest. 90s are way too high. My family all have had problems with their lower numbers being too high including myself. We have all found success lowering our numbers with our Losartan. I just take the lowest dose and I have lowered my numbers 20 points. Oh yes, like you, I also take Lasix. Rose it is very important that you discuss this with your doctor and with any possibility of other medications! Please don’t delay make an appointment this week to see your doctor! Be demanding!
Much prayers! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

My heart surgeon prescribed a beta blocker, which has helped. My BP usually read 128 to 130 over 70 to 80 now, but before surgery it would read 160 to 180 over 85 to 95. I agree that you need to talk or get an appointment with your cardiologist, who may want to change your medication. Hope you have good evening. May God Bless.

Are you having any other symptoms other than the high blood pressure those really aren’t too bad of blood pressure readings I could take some for you because mine was 92/66 this morning and I keep forgetting to take it an hour later after I take my military to get my blood pressure up, so I’ll have to remember to do that tomorrow, but if you’re not having any other symptoms, you know I guess I would just call your doctor on Monday and tell him what your blood pressures have been but like I said, I don’t think those are bad blood pressures. I wish my could get mine up into 100 maybe once a month I can get it up to 100 and something but I would suggest just calling your doctor your primary doctor or your cardiologist on Monday. I have diastolic dysfunction also of my left side of my heart. Hope everything goes good for you.
