It seems there's not too much I can eat. Also do others eat out and do they check the sodium content on what they order at a restaurant?
Thanks for the reply. I eat mostly the same way except I don't get as much fruit as I should. I have fish often and haven't had red meat for over a year. I'm hoping that my diet is helping my heart to heal.
Hello Spogma I don't eat salt and I buy either fresh or frozen veggies😎 not canned unless I can find it without salt. I don't eat any lunch meats, bacon, sausage or meat that is injected with a saline solution. I watch how much fluids I take in. I also don't eat fish only cause I am allergic to it. My meat department usually ends up in a lot of chicken and Turkey. Red meat in moderation if that much. I have CHF chronic so I have to really watch things. I am also a diabetic type 2 but am severely insulin resistant. I make insulin but my body doesn't use it. So I can't eat much fruit. No added sugars etc. 😎
Spogmama I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. Love peach season is here I go to the local orchard every couple weeks and get 1/2 peck. Apples oranges melons plums pineapple and I also eat a lot of spinach broccoli cauliflower tomatoes peppers onions salads of course my meats usually include chicken and fish. Now and then I have red meat and at the gathering of my children and grands I eat whatever we have. Use a variety of spices and Mrs Dash instead of salt. But like I tell my doctor Mrs Dash has nothing on Mr Salt😂 hope you can figure it out. Stay well and safe
You certainly have more of a challenge than I do when it comes to diet. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you. You seem to have a good attitude towards the problem and that does make a world of difference. Keep at it and know that I'm thinking of you and praying for you.
I do my best to follow the Mediterranean program, not really a diet but way of life. I love it but I still have too many moments of wanting my crunchy salty snacks. Look it up on Pinterest, it's great
