Pacemaker Rate Response
A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been doing well and getting a good amount of exercise at my local gym. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are typically adjustments that need made to the pacemaker rate response settings when your energy levels increase? I am wondering if that might contribute to the pounding heart rates that I have been noticing when at rest or just doing light activity?

Hi, don't quite know if it's the answer to your question, but my pacer is set to fire on demand. It automatically adjusts depending on what my activity is, you can always check with your pacer clinic & see if this is something for your lifestyle. Good Luck. BTW, I have a Boston Scientific, previously it was Medtronic & they were both set up in the same pacing mode.

I don't know about energy levels making a difference but you should probably let your doctor know about the pounding heart rate. 🤗😁
