Both my parents were full blown alcoholics. My first marriage ended weeks later because of his drinking. My husband now of over 30 years was a heavy drinker too. In my book...one drink is too much. My husband is now diabetic because of his drinking and he stopped. He lost 35 pounds in six months and controls his health with good eating habits. However this past month he has started to drink non alcoholic beer and his stomach has started to bloat again. Your body will tell you one way or the other how much you can consume safely.

Thanks, but I enjoy a few beers with friends and family and the social environment also.

Some doctors say you can get the same benefits from red grape juice as wine.

I don't drink. I've read that wine in moderation is beneficial. I don't know about hard liquor. If a person has any type of heart disease, you better check with your cardiologist first.
