Has Anyone Else Experienced Weight Loss After A Heart Attack?
I had a heart attack in January 2020. Since then I have lost about 50 lbs. Not complaining but just wondering this is normal.
For years I couldn't gain weight and was terribly skinny. My cardiologist said it was common because my heart was trying to mend itself and taking more calories. She suggested cooking with butter, high calorie but healthy foods, to keep my calorie intake up.
Since my heart has gotten better I have gained weight and look and feel so much better.
I was too skinny for about 5 years.
I had a valve repaired 2019 and I have lost 45 pounds. Not by accident, I was to heavy then and would still like to lose some more. Maybe the meds. helped but I have almost totally quit alcohol and think that is the reason. I haven't had a cup of coffee in 6 weeks, was doing 6 cups a day at least.
Congratulations on losing. I think that is great. Keep the good work up. It is important to take good care of ourselves after an heart attack. Hugs have a great day today.
My heart attack was 7/30/21 and I've lost 22lbs mainly due to lack of appetite. I am now going to cardiac rehab and with exercise I hope to lose another 20 lbs.
I lost 10lbs after my triple bypass. It was fluid.
