Triple Bypass 6 months ago. All had been going well with recovery and rehab. Did Cardiac Rehab with gusto and great outcome. Maintained diet and continued exercising. Weight was good. The last 3-4 weeks I have not been able to muster the drive, energy or determination to exercise. I know I need to exercise. I know I have to exercise for the sake of my heart’s recovery and health. Can’t break the chains. Is this the 6 month syndrome I’ve heard about. How do I go about getting back on track… read more
One day at a time is all I do . Big hugs to all of you 🙏❤️
It's hard when energy is low. I walk around the house 3x a day for 10 minutes each. It's not much but it's something. Do what you can even if you have to stop and rest in-between. Hugs 😊
Hey Vinny
I hear you, I've had fatigue and also sob when I walk or exercise and I am 3 years out from my bypass. I saw the cardiologist and just had another Echo and Stress test that came back normal, thank god. I asked to go back to cardiac rehab for a short stint to get me back in the habit of exercise daily. hang in there and one day at a time.
Hey Vinnie,
I offer another answer that won't help, probably.
I have always had trouble with new things of any kind. New diets, exercise, therapy, and being positive are a few things that go in cycles for me. The worst process is feeling great for a while then feeling like crap. Wednesday morning, I had a spell where I started sweating so much it soaked my shirt and dripped off my forehead. I felt weak and shaky. I had to sit down. It lasted about 15 minutes. The entire time I said prayers asking for strength to get thru it.
Two days before, I had walked five miles and felt great.
I never know when I'm going to switch from up to down, and each half usually lasts a week or more.
These cycles are mental battles for me. I have to tell myself constantly to be strong, and God will help me thru the bad and let me enjoy the good if I listen to him (no matter what way he is using to communicate).
Hi Vinny, i know its easy to say but just do it. Once you start you’ll have the drive to continue.
