A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

Can an unhappy times in ones life cause, contribute to and effect heart failure, afib, a pacemaker and cause death? Can a person die from a "broken" heart?

I know it gets old very fast explaining your condition and problems over and over, its just keeps reminding you of your problems, and then they weigh heavy in the mind, then that dark cloud looms over and sits and spreads like air. Its okay to rant to get out of you keep ranting, keep sharing! I love you I give you some love okay, If it be dreary where you are, I know this friend he a Priest, he calls rain, liquid sunshine, have sunshine day its rainy and dreary here, May sunshine fill your eyes with some joy for who you are

Thank you for all the encouraging thoughts and comments. Today is a ruff day. My lungs are mad at my heart and the doctors have changed my medication for COPD, asthma, pulmonary fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension. I am tired of explaining some meds make my heart afib worse and hurts literally. And Levalbuteral for my nebulizer makes my heart mad. I'm exhausted for explaining to Hospice nurse. I'm sure they hear patients complain but I have survived breast cancer since 1999 and between surgeries to cut out the cancer and drugs, plus many more health issues too many to list. I'm an experienced patient. The cancer doctor taught me know your meds no matter who prescribed them. And question the choices. I know everyone here is struggling and between 1 dramatic issue after another the past 2 years have been excuse me but (HELL) incredibly difficult all around the world. Please know I many not sign on often and comment. But when I do I'm sorry but I rant too much. But you'll do understand from being a patient and the medical folks that treat us deserve "Metals of Valor" Purple Hearts"and any other award for caring for us. But sometimes I wish they could hear what we're trying to explain so the emotional pain for us isn't so hard to deal with.

Yes, it can. After my open heart surgery the doctor said your diet is good, you exercise, but your job (constant stress, mental demands, emotional demands, etc) are killing you. You have to make a choice. You were lucky this time but if you continue, there is no guarantee. Fortunately, I was able to find another job and use my skills without the tremendous emotional overload! I thoroughly enjoyed my job until I retired!
