Heart attack age 54 in 2016 bypass same year
I have always had a heart murmur because of a bicuspid Aorta Valve which finally started to fail and the rate at which it was sending blood to the Aorta increased dramatically (like a fire hose)! When they replaced the valve they also had to do a double bypass and reduce the Aorta. After the surgery, the nurses discovered blood in my urine and they had to go back in to repair some missed stitches (another 2 hours on the table to open me up and do the repair)
Since that time (June 10, 2010) I have not had any trouble but I walk a LOT and my new wife complains that I am working too hard with the walking. I am also on a new Cardiac Rehab for the next six months where they work us very hard and I also do some jogging in between the walking (5 min walk, 1 min jogging).
At the same time I became a buddhist and changed my lifestyle considerably by trying to be a vegetarian but had to moderate this to go back to red meat to replace all my lost Iron. So now I try to walk (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators) steps daily (or more) and meat once or twice a week as I now also have Type 2 Diabetes.
Getting old certainly isn't for sissies!
