Yes, ascending aorta aneurysm 4.9cm with bicuspid aortic valve. My BAV causes moderate aortic insufficiency. I have no symptoms at this time. The aneurysm is right at the point where risk of rupture is roughly equivalent to the risk of surgery. I'm going to The Heart Hospital Baylor in Plano TX for tests and consultation next week.
I'm in "limbo" in a "holding pattern" ....."almost" wish I didn't even know about it.....
I had a AAA fixed while they replaced congenital bicuspid valve with a bovine (cow) valve by Drs. Ryan and Schaffer at The Heart Hospital (Baylor) in Plano TX. Just be sure you go to a highly rated teaching hospital like The Heart Hospital, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, etc. & you'll be fine.
I have aortic birth defective valve disease. Going to have one heart surgery for a new valve replacement plus an aortic blood clot on my main artery which they are going to place a mesch over it. Very scared. In two weeks.
