I agree with Pati's explanation. I first had heart issues 7 years ago---have had cardioversion twice---didn't last. So have a pacemaker and had other procedures----am in AFib all the time---told me that can't do any more for the issue.- Due to the AFib---am very likely to have a stroke. Thankful for EVERY day!!! You all hang in there--do only what you know is best for you!!! Have a great day.

I’m walking in your 🧦 socks! Since 2004 when my AFib was first discovered, I have had at least four cardioversions. Fortunately during all of them I have been asleep. Unfortunately none of them worked. So I am in constant AFib. I have fun with ECG techs who don’t know me when they run the strip! Many turn a kinda off grey when they look at the ECG strip. I have a pacemaker that I love it really helps with strength and energy. I was in heart block and had to have the pacemaker installed immediately. It has really changed my life for the better. The pacemaker and AFib are hard to explain how they work together. My pacemaker is set at 70 bpm. However the my heart is in such a rebellion with AFib who knows when the beats may come. I may get all 70 beats within the first 30 seconds for the last 30 seconds. I tried to find humor in things like this. It does help when you realize that AFib makes you five times more likely to have a stroke. We just need to all stick together like we are here on this website! Anything new that we find out that might help we can share. Managing our medication, especially blood thinners. Managing our diets😜 Hey! I hate kale and I’m so glad because of its vitamin K content I don’t feel guilty for hating it! I exercise every day, not really for my ❤️ But because this 65 year old body turns to stone if I don’t exercise! Best wishes to you in prayers 🙏🏽 as you life goes on!!

I believe it's when they put the paddles on your chest to try and get your heart rhythm normal. I've had it done once cause I was in constant afib for 7 days. It worked for 3 hours and then my heart went back into afibs. I was chronic for 20 years and on medication.
