Reflux Issues After Heart Surgery?
A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have noticed that since my surgery there have been nights that I notice nausea and reflux like symptoms. I'm wondering if that is common after surgery and if anyone has had any reflux medications or treatment that has helped???

Yes! I take Pantoprazole for it. I tried to stop it after a year but I still need it. My Dr. said it can happen after they open you up. I also find it helps to lay on my left side if I'm feeling symptoms.

hello and yes after my surgery i started to get acid reflects systems. i have been in and out of hospital for this in the past and they found that i have acid reflects disease. so know i am on a pill for that. you can take tums for the acid reflects as well. i take 2 tums when i am out and feeling acid reflects, 2 tums and let it dissolve. it will work. but i do take a med for it. you also can get a liquid form of med to take it works faster. you can buy the tums and a liquid at a drug store. ask the pharmacy person to help you. hope this will help
