Since my quadruple bypass and Maze procedure I can’t fall asleep. I just lay in the bed for hours. Anyone else with this problem?

Need Help Sleeping,

You might have Sleep Apnea. I know I do. If you stop breathing as often as I do, it will strain your heart. Then you might wake up. When I wake up, I can't go back to sleep. Taking drugs to make me sleep messes with my breathing even more. That isn't the way to go.

Check yourself into Sleep Medicine. They will tell you what needs adjusting after doing a Sleep Study.

I've been down this path before.

I have a very nice selection of music on my PC, and some great sources of audio on YouTube designed to overcome insomnia. Some are for prayer and meditation. Some are for worship and praise. That last one keeps me alive.

I have an old favorite audio track of thunderstorms and rain. For me, it is second only to the sound of the waves on the ocean shoreline. Every time I visit the shoreline the magnitude of what I witness engulfs me, and I connect with God.

Nature is a wonderful way to connect with our creator. It is a witness of His being and proof of His loving-kindness and generosity.

All the truly great masters of classical music bear witness to the glory of His creations in their compositions. I studied music for years, and things like the songbirds had an obvious impact on the music compositions. I hear the songbirds in the trills and motifs of classical music. And some masters of classical music openly declare His glory as it should be.

I even studied bird watching for a year or so. Those songs the birds sing are actually territorial signals to other birds. I still think some sing because they are happy.

I learned how to train wild birds to eat out of one's own hand. Yes, it is simple, but it takes a little ingenuity, a lot of time, and patience.

I even learned how to charm wild squirrels making sounds using my hands, lips, and my breath. I learned that last one from some nature guide expert. I have such a rich variety of the most simple things that are not understood by most people.

I enjoy recalling these things.😊

My two cents.
