Does Anyone Else Have Trouble With Concentrating On The Task At Hand? I Tend To Stare Into Space For 15 Minutes Or So?

I had open heart surgery on February 25th of this year. I had a quadruple bypass. It was going to be 5 but one vessel was calcified so they could do that procedure. I also had a congenital AVM in my heart. I personally am so tired of taking all the medications 22 in all every single day. I still have a small piece of my incisional site that is infected. In the beginning I had to do dressing changes twice a day. At least I don't have to do that anymore.

My biggest problem now is this… read more

First … take it easy on yourself. Your body has undergone a major event. Physical, mental and emotional repercussions are different for everyone. Recovery is different for each of us.
It might be a good course of action to first discuss this with your health care team/Cardiologist just to ensure your health and well being. If they find it’s not at all related to a medical issue or your medications then perhaps a therapy session or two might be beneficial. Talking your recovery challenges out was a very useful tool for my recovery issues. Sometimes it was difficult to talk everything out to my primary caregiver, my wife. The process put her through the wringer. I told her “in a nutshell” what I was exepiencing so she wasn’t shouldering more. Then I spoke with a close friend or two about it. Then finally a mental professional. Their listening, and really hearing me, and their feedback was extremely helpful.
Again, take it easy on yourself. Recovery is often a slow, lengthy process with ups, downs, twists and turns. You can come out of this just fine. Believe. Pray.
GOD bless you.

Mauli, the tuxedo cat does. I adopted him on Friday 13th after losing both my cats in 10 days. He is loving, funny, and likes to cuddle, curious, just what the doctor ordered! He sits up like a little bear. However, someone I thought was a friend implied that sick or disabled people shouldn't be allowed to adopt pets. (And she use to work with handicapped kids & horses). BTW, I have a will that covers my pet(s), even financially. Some people are so judgmental.

Sounds like what I need, a grief counselor. Not only did my sister died last year, but I am in the process of dying & grieving my impending death. Does anyone know more about this?
