Can An Echocardiogram Be Interpreted Incorrectly?
A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭

My first echocardiogram showed a mild aortic regurgitation, 5 months later moderate, 8 months later mild and 12 months later moderate-severe.

I was going to a well known Cardiologist in a large office. They had their own team of Ultrasound technologists that specialized in the heart. I was misdiagnosed for years. My MD read his patient studies.
This year things changed and I was diagnosed with AFib. I was admitted to the Hospital to get my heart back in a normal rhythm. I had to have a specialized Heart echo with a bubble study. It was done in the Hospital and read by a cardiologist from a different group. The report wasn’t like all the previous ones.
Get a second opinion may help .
