My friend had triple bypass surgery 1.5 years ago and has since struggled with difficulty sleeping. He takes ambien and melatonin with little success. The lack of sleep is becoming an increased frustration, and we are looking for ideas. He is working with his doctor as well. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Cannot sleep more than 4 hours-awake for an hour-then back to sleep for 1-2 hours. Routine. Had quad bypass a year ago, sleep never the same. Tried many, many things-useless. Careful to not nap during day as it makes trying to sleep worse. Limit it to just resting. Anything other than melatonin, makes for bad nightmares for me. One Tylenol PM helps for my second wave of sleep each night. 1 melatonin, 10 mg to start sleeping. Still 4 hours of sleep, awake an hour, then 2nd period of sleep, usually an hour with the PM pill.
I have to look it up! I belong to YouVersion. I’ve haven’t slept more than 4 hours straight in 10 years. Glad it works for you!
