Is Prednisone supposed to be some kind of miracle drug ? It seems that it prescribed for practically everything .

I was on Prednisone HCL I think it is any way I don't like it not matter which one it is, It makes me jittery I don't sleep I get ton's of things done. This last time I was on it for 5 days at 20 mg and I had intense cravings of salty stuff and sweet stuff.I gained over a 100 lbs after being on it for 3 years. I was done with by then. No more except for exasturbations for my lungs. But I even stopped that at the begining of the year.

It helps reduce inflammation. For myself I go on and off it due to lung issues. It is a steroid so it helps to stimulate I guess would be the word for to make my lungs work for a short time til they can do it on their own; After the last episode which was last month I was on large doses of it for a while and I will never take it again. It is a good drug for it's use but for me the side effects far outway the good for now. I was on it for 3 years in the begining from 2003-2006 and gained a 100 lbs. I didn't even do that when I quit smoking.. For me it will only help me for short periods of time not for long term. Right now I am just about living life cause mine will end sooner than I want it to.

I had been on methylprednisolone dose pack had the worst heartburn will never take it again!
