Cordarone

I heard there is a substitute for Cordarone. Less effective but fewer side effects? Can anyone tell me if this chemistry works well enough to switch? (Dronedarone)

I didn't mean optic nerve, I meant cornea.

The Mayo Clinic had me on Amiodarone for 28 years and I tolerated it fine. They did frequent pulmonary function tests and liver tests, also checked for deposits on the optic nerve. I have been off of it for 1 1/2 years and my rhythm isn't as good as when I was on it, but I'm doing fine.
