Ever since my Bypass i get an ache in the neck from the area where the drug leads went into my neck. Cant think of the name of the vessel at the minute.
Anyone else had this
Hi Phil. Well arteries are the only blood vessels in the body that have nerves surrounding them. So, because of the "trauma" your carotid artery had (being cut into, having the tubes there and the fluids that went into it), plus the usual thing that people do when something is in their neck is to turn the other way and therefore the muscles in the area get sore and cramped - so all these things can cause the neck pain you are speaking about. However, because pain in the neck (especially the left side) can also be heart related so as people have suggested - make sure your doctor is aware of these pains. Hope this helps. God Bless.
I remember it now its the Carotid artery its ached on n off ever since they took out the feeder leads etc where they gave morphine etc when i had my bypass
No never had the bypass surgery. Ask your doctor if this is normal. and also ask them for more details on when to call 999 for the chest pain. but if you are having pain you need to let them know as it may be something they might have to do more tests on. I know that is not the answer you wanted. sorry but 10+ hugs for asking.
Hope the ache in your neck has been sorted out, don't know the name of vessel, google it.Hope you have a good day.
Thank you Robin.
