I used to be where you are. Caused irradic BP , poor blood circulation, palpitations, pains constantly sometimes I felt like I was gonna die or wanted too. They wanted to put me on meds to control the electrical impulses but I had already done some research at that point and after talking to the dr about treatment options it eventually would end up with some kind of heart surgery or worse, heart attack. So I asked if I would eventually need to have heart ablation done and his answer was yes. That it would eventually end up there next. So I decided to skip all the 2 yrs or more of medication therapy and went right for ablation. Best thing I could have done. That was 3 yrs ago now. I still have minor symptoms here and there but mainly due to triggers that caused it. Alcohol, high caffeine intake, the foods you eat, high stress etc. I have since went to herbal medicines along with the prescription meds I have that will most likely be a lifetime thing. It was a scary road not knowing before hand if I was gonna wake up or not with these episodes, my wife works night and that's when it was at its worst. Being alone with an autistic child also added to the stress.
Since redoing and eliminating the bad foods and changing how and what I take has helped tremendously.
Talk with your Dr about treatments, long term goals and what the risks are now compared to what they may become. Look into heart ablation surgery, spent 3 days in hospital, day of surgery, two days of recovery. Took about 3 months to start getting back to doing things I used to do but limited. After about 6 months I was pretty much healed and started working on exercise, diet changes and tweaking. Researching alternative medicines. My anxiety was my biggest adversary, my other issue was the feeling of doom or I was gonna have a heart attack if my afib was triggered. Don't let that get to you. Stopping carbonated beverages and alcohol was a big thing for me but it was best over all. Eating gassy foods is another issue to watch for. Eat in small quantities of those foods. Soluble fibers are great, fresh organic fruits , veggies, and stop with processed foods best you can. Low to no sodium, low to zero sugar foods and beverages. Drink herbal teas hot or cold and use raw organic honey as the sweetener instead of sugar or substitutes. Mushroom coffee has its benefits too.

If you have ablation surgery just a heads up. someone who has had one. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. know they will put you as precautionary on a similar product like omniprizole because they ablate RF next to the esophogus and it can cause a feeling of pressure or discomfort and they do not want you to have chest pain afterwards. I was on it for 30 days after. I also want to mention it may be difficult for a little bit right after the ablation to swallow food. You will have to find what is comfortable for you. Not to scare you but just be prepared for that possibly. I may have been warned about it but didnt remember. I had to change up my eating for a bit after. hot vs cold or sometimes consistency was an issue cuz your esophogus may be tender for a little while. You will definitely need to eat in smaller quantities. Your body will let you know. I lost 30# right after mine and have been going down since the ablation. I was at 287. I am now 220#
